PIRTEK Newark Opens Doors on Cruise Ships in Bayonne Harbor
The PIRTEK System is no stranger to maritime fluid power system projects.
Major ports such as Newark/New York, Baltimore, New Port, Ft. Lauderdale,
Los Angeles and Seattle just to name a few are called upon by cruise ships,
US Coast Guard vessels and independent ship stevedoring companies who
depend on each local PIRTEK Center for timely maritime service.
We are featuring in this article, an undertaking by PIRTEK Newark based in
New Jersey, which recently outfitted several hydraulically operated doors
on a major cruise ship company that plies the waters of New York Bay to
Halifax in autumn, while their customers enjoy the spectacular fall colors
of Bar Harbor and New Port in New England and Halifax and St. John in
Canada.
The recent project involved replacing hydraulic hoses on several main
platforms, tender platforms, hatch and spare access doors on the cruise
ship. Such jobs are challenging since the multi-million dollar ships
operate on a strict time schedule and all the jobs need to be done fast,
efficiently and to the customer's satisfaction on very short order.
While the PIRTEK System is internationally famous for its One Hour ETA
On-site Hose Service for construction, industrial, utilities and
transportation industries, its presence in the maritime industry has long
been existent but less known. The ports of Rotterdam, Holland, Singapore,
Hamburg, Germany, Newcastle, UK, Sydney and Perth, Australia are some of
the major port destinations PIRTEK serves.
